Jodi Hugo
Jodi Hugo is a South African artist born in 1982 in Cradock in The Great Karoo. She now lives and works just outside of Utrecht in the Netherlands.
She grew up in Stellenbosch in the Western Cape and received her BA in Fine Arts degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 2004.
Her recent focus has been on mixed media paintings that explore, show and communicate the personal experience of being a conscious being in this world. Some of the themes that inform her work are: 'the beauty in things, nostalgia, emotion and the boundaries between these realities, our minds and the memories and filters we impose on everything.'
